This Privacy Policy explains how CensorPulse (“CensorPulse”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the CensorPulse mobile application (the “App”). We built CensorPulse to be private by design: we do not require an account, we do not run ads, we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data. Measurement results stay on your device.
CensorPulse is a network‑diagnostics tool. It measures whether the network you are on interferes with connections to a built‑in list of public websites and services, at several layers of the connection (DNS, TCP, TLS, and TLS server‑name / SNI), plus an app‑layer HTTP reachability check for a small set of services. It reports, in plain language, whether each destination is reachable or something is interfering — and at which layer. The App also shows a label for the network you are on (autonomous system / operator / country).
The App reports what it observes. It does not change your connection, route your traffic, or provide access to any specific content.
Measurements run on your device. The App has no backend account system and does not transmit your results to us. Everything described below is either processed locally on your device or is a direct request from your device to a public destination as an inherent part of a measurement.
Performing a network measurement necessarily means sending requests over the network. When you open the App, it performs a one‑time network‑identity lookup and a connectivity check to populate the Run screen. When you tap RUN, the App performs a full measurement run. During these activities the App contacts:

These requests are the measurement itself, not telemetry about you. As with any normal internet request, your public IP address is visible to the destinations you contact, because the request originates from your connection.
To show your network label (ASN / operator / country), the App queries independent third‑party IP‑lookup providers (see Section 5). Your public IP address is inherently visible to those providers because the request comes from your connection. The App displays the result on your device and does not store your IP address in the measurement report, and we do not store it on any server of ours.
The results of a run (per‑target verdicts and the per‑layer details, plus the network label) form a report that is shown and kept locally on your device. The App may store your most recent report locally so it is available the next time you open the App. You can manually export a report as a file through your device’s standard share sheet; when you do, you choose where it goes. Nothing is exported or uploaded automatically.
Your preferences — such as interface language (English or Russian) — are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, or advertising identifiers, and the App contains no advertising or analytics tracking SDKs. We do not create profiles about you.
Because measurement results stay on your device, there is very little information for us to use. The limited processing that happens is used only to:

CensorPulse relies on a small number of third‑party destinations to perform its measurements. Each has its own privacy policy:

We do not control these providers and encourage you to review their privacy policies. We do not sell your data to any of them, and we do not receive your measurement results through them.
The measurements use standard secure transport (TLS/HTTPS) where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but because the App keeps results on your device and does not maintain accounts, the amount of data at risk is minimal.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts and do not receive your results, the data the App produces lives only on your device and can be removed by clearing it or uninstalling the App. If you have questions, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
CensorPulse is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required by their local law (for example, under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The public destinations and resolvers the App contacts to perform measurements may be located in countries other than your own — this is inherent to measuring how a network routes and treats internet traffic. The App does not send your data to servers of ours, because we operate none for this purpose.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in the App or store listing where appropriate.
